Appetite Suppressants - Fat loss

Obesity and weight loss treatments are long-term. For special cases with high blood pressure, diabetes and other chronic conditions, the use of weight loss supplement may be appropriate.

In general, a fat loss supplement should only be used when prescribed as treatment for people with above 30 body mass index or those with a family background of obesity.

Currently, bodybuilders use appetite suppressants, which usually come in the form of capsules and tablets, as a Bodybuilding supplement for immediate drastic weight loss.

Although these appetite suppressants are approved by the FDA only for short-term use, a nutritional supplement of this sort can be purchased over-the-counter and with a doctor’s prescription.

Appetite suppressants encourage weight loss by deceiving the body that it is full. Such helpful health supplement lessens appetite by raising the level of catecholamine and serotonin– two vital brain chemicals, which affect the appetite and mood.

One of the best nutritional supplement, which became famous for its effectiveness, is the Phen-fen (Phentermine and Fenfluramine).

The Phen-fen was an appetite suppressant, which was available in the market until 1996.

It was used as a fat loss supplement for obese patients, but was pulled out due to reports of heart valve damages.

Despite its controversial side effect, Phen-fen – combined with exercise and diet – was an effective health supplement that allows the body to lose over 10 % of fats.

Other appetite suppressants in the market include herbal Phen-fen, Xenical, Sibutramine and Yohimbine. Natural supplement that work as appetite suppressants includes caffeine, anti-suppressing aromas, guar gum and other fiber supplements.

Appetite suppressants are nothing close to a natural supplement.

Long-term use of this synthetic nutritional supplement could cause addiction, increased tolerance level and various side effects.

Almost all kinds of weight loss supplement are approved by the FDA for short-term use.

This is because appetite suppressants cause side effects such as sweating, insomnia, headache, drowsiness, lightheadedness and constipation, dry mouth, excessive thirst, anxiety, increased blood pressure and increased heart rate.

For these reasons, consuming this kind of fat loss supplement is not for everyone.

As it goes with herbal supplement and weight lifting supplement, the effects of appetite suppressants vary from one person to the next.

Nonetheless, a balanced diet, change of eating habits, proper exercise and workout should always be included while taking any kind of nutritional supplement.
